Ringhotel Schloss Tangermünde
Sit on the imperial terrace in the palace garden and gaze at the historic old town and the Elbe. At one time, Emperor Charles IV was so impressed by this view that he chose the castle as his residence. His plans were thwarted, and the imperial castle was burned down by Swedish troops in 1640. Only in 1902 the reconstruction of the palace began. Only the castle gates, office, residential tower and moat have survived from the original castle complex. The castle is now used as a hotel. It was opened in 2000 after extensive restoration.
The entire ensemble, which is grouped around the inner courtyard of the castle, offers 36 rooms distributed across the main house and three garden houses. There are no antiques here, but there is suitably stylish decoration, a relatively large wellness center “Kaisertherme” with a swimming pool, and a rustic restaurant.
